Where is Mission Christian Academy?
Beginning in August 2022, MCA will begin classes at 13095 Publishers Drive in Fishers, IN. Our new 43,000sqf facility will allow MCA to grow over the next few years and allow us space to add more students, electives, and overall growth.
What grades is Mission Christian Academy?
We are a K-12th grade academy.
Who is leading Mission Christian Academy?
Shawn Moore and Jerry Ackerman are the driving force behind the leadership team at MCA. Shawn Moore, Principal of MCA, has a Masters degree in Education and was formerly a principal for 7 years in the private Christian sector in the Indianapolis area. Jerry Ackerman, Director of Operations, has a BA in Education and has operated his own businesses over the last 15 years.
Who are the teachers?
All of our teachers are certified in their field of study. Also, the teachers must sign a statement of faith as they are expected to uphold biblical teaching and will be free to weave faith into their teaching.
Will my student need to sign a statement of faith?
No, we are not requiring students to sign a statement of faith. In fact, we encourage non-believers to join us at MCA. BUT, they will be expected to uphold a code of conduct like all other students and they can expect to hear biblical teaching throughout all disciplines.
What is the calendar like?
We have a tab on our site that will be updated constantly highlighting events, but our school calendar will be consistently starting from early/mid August and wrap up mid/late May. Our academy operates in-person on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Monday is an added, optional in-person day for students where they can catch up on work, receive tutoring, and connect again in-person.
With today's world, what is the plan for e-learning?
Mondays and Fridays are "work at home" days where students receive work from teachers that Thursday to fulfill their learning obligations in each class. Rarely do we utilize Zoom for virtual classes and have not relied on that since our inception.
What kind of payments are possible?
Our tuition is a one-fee all-inclusive system to provide clarity and certainty for families. We have several discounts available on our Pricing Page and provide yearly, quarterly, and monthly payments.
How will lunch be handled?
Lunches are monitored by our administrative team and volunteer parents within the MCA community so teachers can get a "break" during the day and utilize some time for planning purposes.
